Job summary

Cursor is hiring a Software Engineer, Billing to evolve the systems powering how we charge and reconcile revenue across millions of developers and enterprise teams. You will work across the billing stack—from usage metering pipelines to invoiced amounts in Stripe—to ensure billing is accurate, scalable, and transparent.

This is a deeply technical IC role focused on billing, not finance operations. You will own usage, limits, ledger, and integrations, and help shape pricing models with product

Qualifications

• Shipped a usage-based billing system in production.
• Integrated deeply with Stripe and handled webhook events.
• Built or maintained a financial ledger and understood its importance.
• Value of correctness and preventing invoice disputes.

Responsibilities

• Implement usage and billing changes end-to-end from UI to invoices in Stripe.
• Evolve ledger for balances, credits, overages, and adjustments with strong accuracy guarantees.
• Integrate Stripe subscriptions, usage records, invoices, and webhooks including mid-cycle changes.
• Build billing APIs and internal tools for querying customer state and investigating billing anomalies.
• Improve observability across the billing pipeline to detect regressions quickly.
• Collaborate with product, infra, and finance to ship new pricing models with low risk.
