Job summary

Datadog is seeking a Technical Escalation Engineer to own usage metering, billing visibility, and cost management across product lines. You’ll drive escalations on usage anomalies, partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance, and build guides and playbooks to help teams resolve cost-related questions.

You’ll enable global Solutions teams through training and scalable resources, acting as the voice of the customer to influence roadmap while maintaining a high standard of technical excellence

Qualifications

• Curiosity about how usage is measured and billed across Datadog products.
• Ability to analyze cost drivers and attribution across cloud services.
• Experience with APIs and billing data exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Become the expert on usage metering and cost within Technical Solutions.
• Lead escalations related to usage, metering, or billing anomalies.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Finance to improve visibility and billing fairness.
• Create internal guides and customer-facing resources for cost management and observability costs.
• Deliver training to global Solutions teams to empower support on usage-related conversations.
• Advocate for customers by surfacing patterns to influence product roadmap.
