Job summary

Talenza, partnering with a leading healthcare organisation, is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to help deliver cloud-native solutions that support critical business systems. The role is based in Sydney with a hybrid arrangement (2 days on-site) and a 12-month fixed-term contract with view to permanent.

You will design, build, and deploy scalable software while contributing to architecture and engineering standards across the organisation, embracing AWS, AI-enabled development tools,

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Python, React or similar modern technologies.
• Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.

Software Engineer

(12 Month Fixed Term contract with the view to convert to full-time permanent - $150K +super)

As part of this journey, they're looking to appoint a Senior Software Engineer to help deliver modern, cloud-native solutions that support critical business and operational systems.

Role Purpose

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll design, build, and deploy scalable software solutions while contributing to architecture, technical leadership, and platform evolution.

You’ll work closely with developers, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing applications, while helping shape engineering standards and best practices across the organisation.

Technical Environment / Desired Experience

• Strong experience with Java, Python, React, or similar modern technologies
• Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor
• Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, or similar container platforms
• Passion for clean code, mentoring, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence
