Job summary

IT Alliance is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (EL1 level) to join a Federal Government project. The role requires hands-on C#/.NET, REST API design, and enterprise application maintenance across Canberra and other Australian cities.

The position is a long-term contract with flexible hybrid work (3 days in-office, 2 days at home per week) and a start date targeted for March 2027. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering experience, security-conscious development, DevOps

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in C#/.NET developing, enhancing and maintaining enterprise applications.
• Designing, developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Oracle 11g/12c SQL and PL/SQL.
• Proficient in JavaScript and maintaining legacy VB6 applications.
• Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Integration (CP4I).
• Ability to manage the software engineering lifecycle from requirements to production support.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• PowerShell scripting for automation and deployment support.
• Citrix administration experience for supporting Citrix environments.
• Commitment to secure coding and engineering standards.
• Proactive in application troubleshooting, performance optimization and documentation.
• Ability to conduct code reviews and provide technical leadership.

One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Senior Software Engineer (Developer) - EL1 Level. This is a long-term contractual position.

Contract Duration: 03 Years (12 months initially + 24 months extension)

Work Location: Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide (03 Days office/02 Days home per week)

Eligibility: You must need to have Baseline Security Clearance or above.

Tentative Start Date: 1st March 2027

Working Hours: 40 hours per week
