Job summary

Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) invites a Software Engineer to join our Adelaide team to build and maintain Linux-based embedded systems for precision positioning products.

You will design, implement and document software, write, modify and debug code, and support existing systems. 5+ years of C/C++ experience and expertise in embedded Linux and real-time systems are required. Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required to work here.

• 5+ years of C/C++ experience with strong coding skills.

• Experience in real-time embedded systems in an embedded Linux environment.

Located central to cafes, restaurants and walking distance to trains, buses and the City Cat, we are currently seeking a Software Engineer with extensive experience building custom Linux based systems for embedded products. This is an integral role and you will be accountable for:

• Building custom Linux based systems for embedded products.
• Developing and documenting software design and requirements.
• Writing, modifying and debugging software.
• Maintaining and supporting existing software on demand.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience building custom Linux based systems for embedded products.
• Experience developing and supporting real-time embedded systems in an embedded Linux environment.
• 5 + years current C/C++ experience with above average coding skills.
• Sound experience in programming real-time applications.
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team-oriented individual who can work well under pressure.
