Job summary

Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) is seeking a Software Engineer with extensive experience building custom Linux based systems for embedded products in Brisbane, Australia. The role focuses on developing and maintaining software for real-time embedded applications and contributing to system architecture.

You will write, modify and debug code, document software design and requirements, and collaborate under pressure in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building custom Linux based systems for embedded products.
• Experience developing and supporting real-time embedded systems in an embedded Linux environment.
• 5+ years current C/C++ experience with above average coding skills.
• Sound experience in programming real-time applications.
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.

Located central to cafes, restaurants and walking distance to trains, buses and the City Cat, we are currently seeking a Software Engineer with extensive experience building custom Linux based systems for embedded products. This is an integral role and you will be accountable for:

• Building custom Linux based systems for embedded products.
• Developing and documenting software design and requirements.
• Writing, modifying and debugging software.
• Maintaining and supporting existing software on demand.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience building custom Linux based systems for embedded products.
• Experience developing and supporting real-time embedded systems in an embedded Linux environment.
• 5 + years current C/C++ experience with above average coding skills.
• Sound experience in programming real-time applications.
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of Linux kernel and device-driver development.
• Knowledge of hardware and low-level development.

Qualifications:

• Software Engineering Degree or Equivalent
