Lockheed Martin Australia is seeking a collaborative software professional to support and guide the SDLC across multiple programs within AIR6500. You will help automate builds, maintain DevOps infrastructure and enable agile delivery to improve automation, security, reliability and speed.

Ideal candidates have strong Linux/Windows development experience, end-to-end engineering lifecycle knowledge, and the ability to apply lateral thinking to complex challenges.

Job description

The Opportunity

AIR6500 is a focussed LMA activity that includes exploring advanced web-based technologies for a Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS) – A system that will interconnect the defence platforms, systems sensors and effectors across the war fighting domains, land, air, sea, space and cyber. As part of ongoing risk reduction, elements of a Joint All Domain Operational (JADO) command and control system will be explored.

The AIR6500 COE IPT Is Responsible For Supporting And Guiding The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Activities Of Other IPTs, Primarily By:

  • The promotion and deployment of code and tools in the AIR6500 development environments, integrating and configuring new and existing tools into tool suites that provide suitable processing solutions;
  • Designing, developing and improving the common CI/CD processes; and
  • Designing, developing and automating various internal processes.
Key Responsibilities

As part of the Centre of Excellence Integrated Product Team (IPT), you will collaborate with customers, engineers and subject matter experts to identify, assess and apply the concepts, technologies and techniques that support the technical development of sophisticated software products.

You Will Play An Important Role In Enabling Agile Delivery Across Multiple Programs, Developing And Supporting CI/CD And DevOps Infrastructure That Improves Automation, Security, Reliability And Speed. Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Automating software builds, build checkout testing and informal system integration activities.
  • Automating and maintaining business processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the health of DevOps infrastructure, including container orchestration, build agents, monitoring tools and dashboards.
  • Administering and maintaining DevSecOps-controlled hosts and environments.
  • Implementing best practices across source control, continuous integration, automated testing and release management.
  • Partnering with IPTs to identify, troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment issues.
  • Configuring and supporting systems engineering, software development and project management tools.
  • Providing thoughtful technical code reviews, analysis and practical recommendations.
  • Resolving issues identified throughout software development, integration and testing to support successful product outcomes.
