Job summary

Armaguard Group ITS is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, and support ATM and backend software across banking and financial services. You will work across the full development lifecycle, collaborating with internal teams, customers and suppliers to deliver high-quality, reliable systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, integration work, and contributing to CI/CD in an Agile environment, with a focus on solving complex problems that directly impact customers.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java and modern backend/frontend tech stacks.
• Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and SQL databases.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and Jira/Bitbucket.
• Experience with ATM technologies or terminal-based systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of banking/payment protocols (NDC, XFS, AS2805) is desirable.
• Exposure to Angular and Splunk is beneficial.

Responsibilities

At Armaguard Group's ITS division, we're building and supporting critical software solutions used across banking and financial services. We're looking for a Software Developer who thrives on solving complex problems and wants to work on technology that directly interacts with customers every day.

About the Role

As a Software Developer, you'll play a key role in developing, enhancing and supporting ATM and backend software solutions. You'll work across a variety of technologies, collaborating with internal teams, customers and suppliers to deliver high-quality, reliable systems.

This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute across the full development lifecycle from design and integration through to deployment and support.

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing and maintaining customer-facing and backend software solutions
• Integrating systems using REST/SOAP APIs and database technologies
• Troubleshooting and providing Level 3 support (including issue replication and root cause analysis)
• Working across multiple projects, including enhancements, new builds and proof of concepts
• Collaborating with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
• Contributing to CI/CD processes and Agile delivery environments
• Translating complex technical concepts into clear, practical solutions

What You'll Bring

• Experience in Java (essential) and ideally C#
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and scripting languages
• Experience working with SQL databases
• Exposure to REST/SOAP integrations
• Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like Jira, Bitbucket or similar
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously
• Excellent communication skills and able to engage both technical and business stakeholders

Highly regarded:

• Experience with ATM technologies or terminal-based systems
• Knowledge of banking/payment protocols (e.g. NDC, XFS, AS2805)
• Exposure to Angular, Splunk or similar tools
