Job summary

Whizdom in Melbourne seeks a Senior .NET Developer (Technical Lead) to guide sustainment, enhancements, and support for mission-critical applications operating in a highly secure defence technology environment.

You will lead Level 3/4 support, design major enhancements, coordinate end-to-end releases, maintain security accreditation, and provide technical leadership across the full SDLC, onsite in Laverton (Melbourne).

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in .NET Framework, .NET Core, and C# development.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft technology environments.
• Knowledge of IIS and Windows Server hosting.
• Experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience working within structured Waterfall delivery frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience supporting business-critical systems in secure or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Level 3 and Level 4 application support activities, including code-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Design and deliver major application enhancements within a structured Waterfall development methodology.
• Maintain application security accreditation and configuration in line with Information Security Manual (ISM) requirements.
• Coordinate end-to-end software releases, ensuring appropriate testing, approval, and deployment controls are followed.
• Manage high-priority incidents and provide timely resolution of critical production issues.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, including architecture and system design artefacts.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across application lifecycle activities.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Developer (Technical Lead) to lead application sustainment, enhancement, and support activities for a suite of mission-critical engineering applications operating within a highly secure environment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex technical issues, driving application improvements, and ensuring the ongoing reliability, security, and compliance of enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities
