Job summary

Green by Nature is seeking an experienced softscape landscaper to lead a small team in maintaining parks, gardens and public spaces in Melbourne. You will oversee mulching programs, planting and general gardening activities with a focus on safety and high-quality workmanship.

The role requires a Certificate III in Landscape Construction, Horticulture or related qualification, plus a valid driver’s licence, White Card, National Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Job description

You are an experienced soft scape landscaper or horticulture professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for maintaining high-quality parks, gardens and public spaces.

You are confident leading a small team and coordinating a range of softscape maintenance and improvement works, including mulching programs, soft-fall renovations, path top-ups, timber edging, planting and general gardening activities.

You hold a valid driver's licence, White Card, National Police Check, Working with Children Check and a Certificate III in Landscape Construction, Horticulture or a related qualification.

About the Role

The role is focused on softscape landscaping works and the ongoing improvement of parks, gardens, streetscapes and public open spaces. You will be responsible for ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering programmed mulching works across parks, gardens and public open spaces.
• Undertaking soft-fall renovation programs, including removal, preparation, installation and top-up of soft-fall materials.
• Completing path top-up and rejuvenation works, including the distribution and placement of appropriate materials.
• Installing, repairing and maintaining timber garden and landscape edging.
• Undertaking general planting works, including trees, shrubs, groundcovers, grasses and seasonal plantings.
• Operating and maintaining landscaping tools, machinery and equipment safely and appropriately.
• Ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy and safe for the public and team members.
• Identifying site issues and reporting maintenance, safety or environmental concerns.
• Providing guidance, training and support to team members while fostering a positive and productive team culture.
• Assisting with the planning and delivery of seasonal and programmed landscape improvement works.
