Job summary

Client 1 in Canberra is seeking an experienced SOE Engineer to join our Managed Services team supporting Federal Government customers. In a Hybrid environment, you will be responsible for the operational support, maintenance and continual improvement of Windows SOE, endpoint management platforms and application deployment services using Microsoft Intune, Configuration Manager and Windows Autopilot.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience deploying and supporting Windows SOE environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Intune.
• Experience with SCCM/MECM and Windows Autopilot.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support Microsoft Intune and Configuration Manager environments.
• Deploy and manage Windows SOE deployment and endpoint management platforms.
• Deploy and manage Windows Autopilot provisioning solutions.
• Maintain compliance policies, endpoint security controls, configuration profiles and patch management activities.
• Package, test, deploy and support applications across managed Windows environments.
• Develop automation solutions and operational improvements using PowerShell scripting.
• Monitor platform health, investigate incidents and resolve technical issues within agreed service levels.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and knowledge articles.
• Provide technical guidance and collaborate with stakeholders, customers and internal teams to deliver quality outcomes.

SOE Engineer

Location: Canberra ACT or Adelaide SA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Security Clearance: Australian Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance. Current Baseline, NV1 or higher clearance highly regarded.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SOE Engineer to join our Managed Services team supporting Federal Government customers.

Working within a Modern Workplace environment, you will be responsible for the operational support, maintenance and continual improvement of Windows Standard Operating Environments (SOE), endpoint management platforms and application deployment services.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving endpoint environments and working with modern Microsoft technologies, including Intune, Configuration Manager and Windows Autopilot.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager environments.
• Support and enhance Windows SOE deployment and endpoint management platforms.
• Deploy and manage Windows Autopilot provisioning solutions.
• Maintain compliance policies, endpoint security controls, configuration profiles and patch management activities.
• Package, test, deploy and support applications across managed Windows environments.
• Develop automation solutions and operational improvements using PowerShell scripting.

Required Qualifications

• Relevant ICT qualifications.
• Microsoft certifications highly regarded.
• ITIL Foundation and other industry certifications advantageous.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience deploying and supporting Windows SOE environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Intune.
• Experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM).
• Windows Autopilot deployment and management expertise.
• Knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD) and authentication technologies.
• Application packaging and deployment experience.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capability.
• Experience supporting highly secure Government or regulated environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
