Job summary

BUSHkids is seeking a Social Worker in Emerald to join a transdisciplinary team focused on early intervention and family-centred care. The role offers either part-time or full-time hours, with a strong emphasis on improving outcomes for regional children across Queensland.

You will assess, intervene, advocate and connect families to local services, while collaborating with other professionals to support caregivers and children within a culturally safe framework.

Qualifications

• Social Work degree and AASW eligibility.
• Experience with children with developmental delay or disability, focus on early intervention and family-centred practice.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills for client care and collaboration.
• Willingness to ongoing professional development and knowledge sharing.
• Ability to work independently within a collaborative team.

Social Worker (Emerald) - Making Early Years Count

BUSHkids is a not-for-profit organisation that has been at the heart of transforming lives of regional children across Queensland for 90 years. Our highly dedicated teams and volunteers are all driven by a shared vision that all children should have access to free allied health services regardless of where they live.

As a part-time or full-time Social Worker working for BUSHkids based in Emerald, you will work collaboratively to deliver high quality social work services that enhance children’s development and wellbeing. This includes working within a transdisciplinary “team around the child” and stepped care model approach, providing both direct therapeutic interventions and indirect support through consultation, care coordination, and capacity building of caregivers and professionals. The role includes assessment, intervention, advocacy, and connection to community and support services, with a strong emphasis on early intervention, prevention, and culturally safe practice.

About You

Social Work 4 year tertiary degree and membership/eligibility to AASW.

Experience working with children with developmental delay or disability with a focus on early interventional and family centred practice.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills necessary for effective client care and collaborative working relationships.

Committed to ongoing personal and professional development with a willingness to share knowledge and skills with others.

Proven ability in working independently while maintaining a highly collaborative, team-oriented approach

Valid Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Current C Class Drivers' Licence

Evidence of Hepatitis B vaccination status
