Job summary

BUSHkids in Emerald, Queensland is seeking a Psychologist to contribute to high-quality, client-centred psychology services for children within a not-for-profit setting.

Based in Emerald, you will join a transdisciplinary team and work on early intervention with families, educators and carers. The role includes collaboration, supervision opportunities, and flexible Part-time or Full-time arrangements to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• 4 year psychology degree and general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Experience with children with developmental delay or disability with a focus on early intervention and family-centred practice.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills for effective client care and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver client-centred psychology services to children and families.
• Provide consultation, guidance and upskilling to allied health professionals.

Psychologist (Emerald) - Making Early Years Count

BUSHkids is a not-for-profit organisation that has been at the heart of transforming lives of regional children across Queensland for 90 years. Our highly dedicated teams and volunteers are all driven by a shared vision that all children should have access to free allied health services regardless of where they live.

As a part-time or full-time Psychologist working for BUSHkids based in Emerald, you will work collaboratively to deliver high quality psychology services that enhance children’s development and wellbeing. Working within BUSHkids transdisciplinary “team around the child” and stepped care model, you will provide consultation, guidance, and upskilling to allied health professionals to support families both directly and indirectly. This includes promoting the importance of early intervention by empowering parents, carers and educators in the local community in building community capacity and fostering a child-centred, holistic approach to growth, development and overall wellbeing.

You will apply evidence-based practices to deliver high quality client-centred services in accordance with best practice guidelines. This may involve assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, intervention, referral and monitoring. In accordance with BUSHkids model of care, this often involves parent-focused intervention and delivery of group programs, alongside individual assessment and intervention.

This involves regular peer consultation/group supervision and individual clinical supervision; including Educational & Developmental Psychology Registrar program (primary Board-approved supervisor available), and hours towards Clinical Psychology Registrar program (as a secondary supervisor), included within your employment package.

Not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 in tax savings per year for full time employees. This represents up to $5,935 in your pay to cover essential living expenses, along with a $2,650 meal and entertainment allowance (pro-rated for permanent part-time)

Additional regional Emerald allowances that include rental and locality allowances where further relocation assistance can be discussed if you are looking to make a move to Emerald.

Additional 3 days of paid leave over the Christmas period (pro-rated for part-time)

14 weeks BUSHkids funded Paid Parental Leave

About You

Psychology 4 year tertiary degree and general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).

Experience working with children with developmental delay or disability with a focus on early interventional and family centred practice.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills necessary for effective client care and collaborative working relationships.

Committed to ongoing personal and professional development with a willingness to share knowledge and skills with others.

Proven ability in working independently while maintaining a highly collaborative, team-oriented approach

Valid Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Current C Class Drivers' Licence
