Job summary

We're excited to welcome a Social Worker – Senior to deliver high level Social Work clinical services and leadership in the provision of child protection counsel and intervention for children at risk of, or who have been subject to abuse and/or neglect, and their family/carer networks.

The position will work collaboratively and creatively as part of a multidisciplinary team and with other government and non-government partners to contribute to and promote a whole of system child protection approach across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. This will include health sites and within the wider community.

Key Responsibilities include:

• In accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics and the AASW professional practice, deliver high level clinical skills and therapeutic intervention to children and their family/carers that are at risk of entering/re-entering the child protection system, utilising evidence-based practice and theory.
• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and child protection risk assessments and provide clinical support and guidance in relation to the outcomes/recommendations of the assessment to other clinicians working with the child and/or the child's family/carer.
• Provide high level written responses to requests for information from the Department of Child Safety and ensure information sharing is relevant and completed in a timely manner and in line with Child Protection legislation.

Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $157,359 p.a., comprising salary rates: $64.64 - $69.55 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4 (Fixed term temporary flexible part time position available for 12 months, 30.4 hrs p.f.).
