Job summary

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Social Worker to deliver evidence-based psychosocial support to patients and families, helping navigate social, emotional and practical challenges affecting wellbeing. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, build clinical confidence under supervision, mentor students and contribute to education, quality improvement and service development.

A Social Work degree and eligibility for AASW membership are required; Newly qualified

About the role

• Make a real difference. Deliver evidence-based social work that helps patients and families navigate the social, emotional and practical challenges impacting their wellbeing.

• Share, support and collaborate. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, provide psychosocial advice and help mentor students and less experienced social workers.
• Help make care better. Get involved in education, professional development, quality improvement and shaping the practices and processes of the Social Work service.

About you

• You have a Social Work degree and are eligible for AASW membership. Newly qualified applicants awaiting conferral or registration are welcome to apply.
• Understand social work practice, social systems, legislation and policy, with the confidence to manage your workload and work autonomously.
• Strong communicator who can collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, build relationships and confidently advocate for patients and families.
• Keen to learn, contribute to research and professional development, improve services and help develop the next generation of social workers.

What we offer

Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $43.97 - $58.59 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
• 17.5% leave loading
