Job summary

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service – Rockhampton QLD is seeking a Social Worker to deliver evidence-based psychosocial support to patients and families. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, providing advocacy, education and practical assistance to improve wellbeing.

You will develop clinical judgement, manage a diverse workload autonomously and mentor junior social workers while contributing to service improvement and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Social Work degree and be eligible for AASW membership.
  • Newly qualified applicants awaiting conferral or registration are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based social work that helps patients and families navigate social, emotional and practical challenges.
  • Grow your clinical confidence by gaining experience and handling increasingly complex cases with supervision.
  • Share, support and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and mentor students and less experienced social workers.

  • Help make care better. Get involved in education, professional development, quality improvement and shaping the practices and processes of the Social Work service.
About you:
  • You have a Social Work degree and are eligible forAASW membership. Newly qualified applicants awaiting conferral or registration are welcome to apply.
  • Understand social work practice, social systems, legislation and policy, with the confidence to manage your workload and work autonomously.
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, build relationships and confidently advocate for patients and families.
  • Keen to learn, contribute to research and professional development, improve services and help develop the next generation of social workers.
What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $43.97 - $58.59 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
