Job summary

RACGP is seeking a Social Media Officer to create, schedule and maintain engaging content across our social channels. You will report to the Public Affairs Manager and work with the Social Media & Content Specialist to support campaigns and community engagement.

You’ll monitor channels, handle inquiries, support GP communities on Facebook and WhatsApp, and track performance to identify trends and opportunities. Flexible location within Australia with WFH options.

Qualifications

• Experience creating engaging social content for multiple channels.
• Strong writing and editing skills for digital platforms.
• Ability to analyse metrics and report on performance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor social channels, inquiries and conversations, escalating sensitive issues when needed.
• Support teams managing online GP communities, including Facebook and WhatsApp groups.
• Track social performance and campaign results to identify trends and opportunities.
• Stay updated on platform changes and best practices, sharing insights with the team.

About the opportunity:

As our Social Media Officer, you’ll create, schedule and maintain engaging content across RACGP social channels. Reporting to the Public Affairs Manager and working closely with the Social Media & Content Specialist and teams across the RACGP, you’ll support campaigns, community engagement and a consistent social media presence.

As our Social Media Officer, you’ll also:

• Monitor social channels, enquiries and online conversations, escalating sensitive or reputational issues when required
• Support RACGP teams managing online GP communities, including Facebook and WhatsApp groups
• Track social media performance and campaign results to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Stay across platform changes, emerging trends and social media best practice, sharing relevant insights with the team

Skills & Experience

• Strong social media copywriting skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Sound judgement and confident communication
• Social media analytics and reporting skills.
