Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking an experienced SOC Manager in Sydney to lead our 24x7 Security Operations Centre. You will oversee monitoring, incident response and playbook development while driving automation and improved detection capabilities across global teams.

You will mentor analysts, collaborate with IT and security engineering, and shape the maturity of our security program in a role that blends technical leadership with people management. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of cybersecurity experience with emphasis on monitoring, detection and response.
• Experience leading high-performing technical teams in 24x7 environments.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS and related security technologies.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; certifications such as CISSP or equivalent highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a SOC team responsible for 24x7 monitoring and response.
• Oversee investigations and incident response activities with IT and other teams.
• Plan and facilitate incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Develop and maintain SOC playbooks, policies, and operating guidelines.
• Drive automation and workflow improvements to raise analyst focus on higher-value work.
• Create metrics, KPIs, and service objectives to measure SOC effectiveness.
• Partner with engineering and threat teams to improve tooling and coverage.
• Mentor and develop SOC analysts and create a sustainable talent pipeline.
• Contribute to security strategy and roadmap within budget and service expectations.
• Maintain readiness for after-hours rotations and critical incidents.
