Job summary

Gartner Information Security in North Sydney is seeking a Senior Security Analyst to strengthen our global Security Operations, independently handling complex investigations and improving detection and response across SIEM, EDR, cloud, email and network telemetry.

You will join a 24x7 SOC, with rotating shifts to ensure continuous coverage, and collaborate with analysts to drive practical improvements, automation, and maturity across Gartner's security program.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of information security and security operations experience.
• Proven triage and incident investigation capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM or XDR, EDR, email security and web proxy.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and query languages such as SPL, KQL or SQL.
• Automation with Python/PowerShell/Bash to reduce repetitive work.
• Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, CS or engineering; certifications such as GCIH/GCFA are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complex incidents from triage through containment and closure.
• Correlate evidence across SIEM, EDR, cloud, email, proxy, and networks to determine root cause.
• Produce concise incident notes and reports for technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Develop and tune detection content and playbooks aligned with MITRE ATT&CK.
• Build tools and automation to reduce repetitive work and improve SOC efficiency.
• Hunt proactively for threats across endpoints, network and cloud environments.
• Act as escalation point and share knowledge with the team.
• Drive continuous improvement of Gartner's global SOC.
