Job summary

Bluefin Resources Pty seeks a hands-on Data Platform Engineer to uplift data engineering capabilities in a modern cloud environment. You will design and implement end-to-end data pipelines, improve ingestion, transformation and delivery for analytics, and own technical outcomes in a delivery-focused role.

Based in Sydney on a hybrid model, the 12-month fixed-term position involves Snowflake, SQL and Python, CI/CD, data modelling, quality checks, and collaboration with engineering and analytics

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on data engineering within modern cloud data environments.
• Commercial Snowflake experience is a must have.
• Advanced SQL skills and practical Python development experience.
• Experience developing engineering standards, reusable frameworks or design patterns.
• Hands-on CI/CD and automated deployment experience.
• Independent, proactive problem solver who collaborates across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance end-to-end data ingestion and transformation pipelines
• Build scalable data solutions using Snowflake, SQL, Python and modern ETL/ELT technologies
• Develop reusable engineering patterns and improve consistency across data pipelines
• Implement and enhance CI/CD processes to support automated testing and deployment
• Design and optimise data models for analytics and reporting
• Introduce automated data quality checks, validation processes and monitoring capabilities
• Improve the reliability, performance and maintainability of existing data solutions
• Work collaboratively with engineering, architecture and analytics stakeholders
