Job summary

Novon is seeking an experienced Data Engineer in Sydney to design and delivery modern data platforms. You will build reliable data pipelines, integrate services, and support the full engineering lifecycle in a hybrid Sydney setup.

You will work with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Spark and Kafka, delivering scalable data solutions across cloud environments such as AWS or Azure. Strong communication with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• At least six years of commercial Data Engineering experience.
• Strong development experience using Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.
• Experience developing transformation pipelines using dbt.
• Experience designing and managing data workflows with Airflow or similar tools.
• Strong experience with distributed data processing using Spark/PySpark.
• Experience building streaming/event-driven solutions with Kafka.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT design patterns.
• Experience with data modelling, data warehousing and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience working with AWS or Azure.

Responsibilities
