Job summary

Mack Technologies is seeking an SMT Operator to perform setup, operation and maintenance for PCB assembly processes. The role reports to the Operations Manager and requires adherence to IPC-610 standards and ESD practices.

Responsibilities include meeting daily build plans, inspecting work, training new operators on NPIs, and maintaining a clean, organized work area while supporting complex hardware and software interfaces.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of SMT equipment operation experience.
  • Experience with NPI is a plus.
  • IPC-A-610 certification is a plus.
  • ESD training and component handling knowledge.
  • Basic computer and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate and maintain screen printers, glue machines, reflow ovens, SMT placement machines, stencil cleaners, conveyors and related equipment.
  • Meet daily build plan according to production planner requirements.
  • Interface with complex hardware and software.
  • Identify and report defective components and non-conforming material.
  • Assist in NPIs by creating, debugging and setting up programs; train new operators as needed.
  • Ensure workmanship standards and cleanliness of work area.

Job description

Shift Schedule: Sunday - Thursday

Shift Hours: 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM EST

10% Shift Differential

Summary

The SMT Operator is responsible for set-up, operation and maintenance of equipment in support of Printed Circuit Board Assembly processes and procedures for Mack Technologies Florida, Inc. Reports to the Operations Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set-up, operate and maintain screen printers, glue machine, reflow ovens, SMT placement machines, stencil cleaners, conveyors, and other equipment used in the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards.
  • Ensure daily build plan is met in accordance with the production planner’s requirements.
  • Interface with complex machine hardware and software.
  • Identify and report defective components.
  • Control, document and process to non-conforming material.
  • Perform minor machine adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect own work to ensure accuracy and integrity of work performed.
  • Participate in the development of new product introduction (NPI) by assisting to create, debug and setup programs; and train new operators to perform NPI as needed.
  • Ensure product meets established workmanship standards.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain data logs.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of work area and surrounding work space.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of work-in-process.
  • Participate in quality teams as required.
  • May train other employees.
  • Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • 1+ years of experience in SMT equipment operation.
  • Experience with NPI a plus.
  • IPC-A-610 Certified a plus.
  • ESD Training.
  • Knowledge of component identification and nomenclature.
  • Knowledge of component handling, including ESD requirements.
  • Basic computer skills, problem solving and workstation skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Capable of performing job function utilizing written procedures, verbal instructions and visual aids.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and IPC-610 requirements.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
  • US Person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty) since work includes ITAR controlled technical data.
