Job summary

CGC Recruitment is seeking an experienced SMP Supervisor to join a Western Australian mechanical and engineering services contractor in Kwinana. You will supervise a small crew and coordinate mechanical, structural and piping maintenance across a major lithium processing operation.

Based at Kwinana, this permanent, full-time role offers a $76 per hour rate plus super, with 5 x 12-hour shifts and a focus on safety, quality and productivity on site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in SMP supervision for a main contractor.
• Experience delivering SMP works on heavy industrial, resources, or construction projects.
• Ideally brownfields SMP project experience within mining or processing facilities.
• Experience working for Tier 1 mining and resources clients.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, structural and piping maintenance activities.

SMP Supervisor

Kwinana, Perth WA | Permanent Full-Time | $76 per hour + super | 5 x 12-hour shifts

The Opportunity

An opportunity is available for an experienced SMP Supervisor to join an established Western Australian mechanical and engineering services contractor, delivering ongoing maintenance and site services to a major lithium processing operation in Kwinana.

The business provides specialist mechanical, structural and piping services across the resources, mining and industrial sectors, with an established presence on major WA projects and a growing workforce.

This is a permanent, ongoing position supporting the client's site maintenance requirements. You'll take responsibility for supervising a small crew of approximately four personnel, coordinating daily activities and ensuring maintenance works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

With both the site team and the contractor's presence continuing to grow, this is a good opportunity to join at an early stage and play an important role in developing the operation.

The Role

Reporting into the site management team, your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and coordinating a small SMP maintenance crew.
• Overseeing day-to-day mechanical, structural and piping maintenance activities.
• Planning and allocating daily tasks to ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with site safety procedures and quality requirements.
• Coordinating labour, equipment, materials and resources.
• Liaising with the client and site stakeholders regarding maintenance priorities and work scopes.
• Monitoring work progress and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Supporting the ongoing growth and development of the site-based team.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:

• Proven experience working in an SMP Supervisor capacity for a main contractor.
• Experience delivering SMP works on large-scale heavy industrial, resources or construction projects.
• Ideally, previous experience on brownfields SMP projects within operational mining or processing facilities.
• Demonstrated experience working for Tier 1 mining and resources clients.
• A strong understanding of mechanical, structural and piping maintenance activities.
• Proven ability to lead site-based crews, coordinate daily work fronts and manage competing priorities.
• A strong commitment to site safety, quality and productivity.
• Full Australian working rights - essential.

Candidates must have relevant main contractor experience on large-scale industrial or resources projects. Subcontractor-only or transferable experience will not be sufficient.
