Job summary

Splunk Cloud asks you to join the SAG team in Australia to shape sizing architecture, sizing tools, and governance for customer workloads and pricing models. You will influence the frameworks, rule-sets, and tooling that map workloads to infrastructure across global teams.

You will work with SRE, tooling, and solutions architecture colleagues in Australia, the US, and the UK, participating in on‑call rotations and driving upstream architecture improvements that prevent issues reaching customers.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL) and Splunk platform architecture — indexing, search, distributed deployments.
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Python preferred) to build and debug diagnostic tooling.
• Working knowledge of networking, OS internals, and storage/data pipelines to root‑cause issues across infrastructure layers.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain root cause and remediation to engineers and customers alike.
• Able to join an on‑call rotation covering customer escalations outside business hours.
• Bachelor's + 5 years, or Master's/PhD + 2 year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Shape sizing architecture, frameworks, rule sets, and tooling to map workloads to infrastructure.
• Support high‑visibility escalations occasionally; influence upstream solutions architecture.
• Collaborate across tooling, SRE, and solutions architecture teams across Australia, US and UK.
