Job summary

BHP is seeking a Site Systems Specialist for Peak Downs Mine in Queensland. This fixed-term maternity leave role (12–13 months) involves supporting safe, reliable operations and driving system use across site teams.

You will develop SHMS requirements, provide system support, run risk assessments, and deliver training while collaborating with diverse teams to improve operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Document Management Processes.
• Experience carrying out Risk Management processes and governance of SHMS.
• Understanding of Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Act, Regulations and standards.
• Ability to balance business needs with practical solutions and problem-solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage at all levels.
• Able to analyse data and conduct audits; confident in public speaking and facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and govern requirements for the site's SHMS.
• Provide technical support for Mine Record and Document Management systems.
• Facilitate Risk Assessments and support development of Site SHMS Documents.
• Assist Risk and Control Owners to execute responsibilities per Global Standards.
• Design, deliver and evaluate training programs using various instructional techniques.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
