Job summary

BHP is seeking a Site Systems Specialist to support safe, reliable operations at Peak Downs Mine. This fixed-term maternity leave position (12–13 months) offers Monday–Friday roster, collaboration across diverse teams and opportunities to enhance system use and operational excellence.

Reporting to the Superintendent Site Systems, you will develop SHMS requirements, provide technical system support, and drive trainings while building strong internal and external relationships.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Document Management Processes.
• Experience with Risk Management and governance of Safety Health Management Systems.
• Understanding of Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and related standards.
• Ability to balance business needs with practical solutions.
• Strong MS Office skills with attention to detail.
• Well-developed organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging at all levels.
• Ability to analyse data and conduct audits; confidence in public speaking and facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and govern requirements for the site's Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).
• Provide technical support in applicable systems including Mine Record and Document Management.
• Facilitate Risk Assessments and support to develop Site SHMS Documents.
• Assist Risk and Control Owners to execute responsibilities in alignment with Global Standards.
• Design, deliver and evaluate training programs using various techniques and technologies.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
