Job summary

McMahon Services in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor - Civil Utilities to lead underground utilities delivery, coordinating subcontractors and site activities to achieve safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes across day and night shifts.

Reporting to the Site Manager and Project Managers, you will supervise water, sewer and drainage works, read construction drawings and ensure WHS compliance while maintaining detailed site diaries and handover reports.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in civil utilities or construction with supervisory experience.
• 3–5 years' experience supervising civil utilities or infrastructure works.
• Ability to coordinate crews and site activities to meet program milestones.
• Strong WHS knowledge and practical risk controls on live sites.

With works underway and a long-term delivery program ahead, we are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor - Civil Utilities to join our Civil & Infrastructure team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of critical underground utilities infrastructure that will support Adelaide's future growth. You'll work within a complex construction environment, leading subcontractors and coordinating site activities to achieve safe, efficient and high-quality project outcomes.

About The Role

Reporting to the Site Manager and Project Managers, you will oversee the delivery of civil utilities works including water, sewer, stormwater and associated underground services. You will coordinate subcontractors, site activities and project interfaces to drive strong safety, quality and program outcomes across your work areas. Working within a complex construction environment, you will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements. The role will involve supervising works across both day and night shifts, with strong communication, coordination and detailed handover reporting critical to success.

What You'll Do

• Supervise civil utilities works (water, sewer, drainage), including night shifts
• Coordinate subcontractors and site activities to meet short-term programs
• Drive WHS, environmental and quality compliance on site
• Maintain detailed site diaries and shift handover reporting
• Lead toolbox talks, safety inspections and risk controls
• Identify and escalation delays, variations and EOTs

What You'll Bring

• Trade qualification with relevant experience in civil utilities, infrastructure or construction projects
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience supervising civil utilities or infrastructure works
• Proven experience coordinating crews, subcontractors and site activities to achieve project outcomes
• Strong understanding of civil utilities construction methodologies, sequencing and delivery requirements
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and elevate risks, delays and opportunities early
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements, including working around live services, public interfaces and asset protection requirements
• Current Driver's Licence and ability to obtain required project and site clearances
