Job summary

McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Leading Hand – Civil Utilities to join our Civil & Infrastructure team in Adelaide. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will coordinate daily site activities, lead crews, and ensure safe, efficient delivery of water, sewer, stormwater and underground infrastructure.

You will monitor progress, read drawings, drive WHS compliance, and coordinate plant, labour and materials.

Qualifications

• Experience on civil utilities, infrastructure or construction projects.
• Experience delivering water, sewer or stormwater infrastructure.
• Ability to lead crews and coordinate daily site activities.
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings.
• Strong WHS awareness and ability to work around live services.
• Current driver's licence and First Aid certificate.

McMahon Services is delivering major civil utilities works as part of one of South Australia's most significant infrastructure projects. With works underway and a long-term delivery program ahead, we are seeking an experienced Leading Hand – Civil Utilities to join our Civil & Infrastructure team.

About The Role

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will coordinate daily site activities, resources and labour while leading crews undertaking civil utilities works. This is a hands‑on leadership role supporting the delivery of water, sewer, stormwater and associated underground infrastructure.

Working alongside operators, pipelayers and labourers, you will help ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

What You'll Bring

• Experience working on civil utilities, infrastructure or construction projects
• Experience delivering water, sewer, stormwater or associated underground services works
• Proven ability to lead crews and coordinate daily site activities
• Strong understanding of trenching, excavation and underground service installation activities
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
• Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements and working around live services
• Current Driver's Licence and First Aid Certificate
• Ability to obtain required project and site clearances
