Job summary

John Holland Pty Ltd, as part of the Torrens to Darlington Alliance in Adelaide, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Plant Engineer. You will provide engineering support across cranes, gantries and lifting equipment, delivering safe, compliant, and efficient plant performance on a major motorway project.

Reporting to the Surface Plant Manager, you will work with construction teams, subcontractors and project engineering functions to mobilise, operate and maintain plant across the 10.5km

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with relevant discipline.
• Experience with cranes, gantries, lifting frames or mobile equipment.
• Familiarity with lifting operations, load charts and lift planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and technical advice across cranes, gantries, lifting frames, mobile equipment and specialised construction plant.
• Support selection, mobilisation and deployment of plant and equipment to meet project requirements.
• Review lift studies, crane configurations, load charts and lifting capacities.
• Provide engineering input into bridge erection, launching, heavy lifting and other complex construction activities.
• Assess temporary works requirements including propping and load requirements.
• Collaborate with construction teams to resolve plant and lifting challenges on site.
• Support plant inspections, certification, maintenance and statutory compliance.
• Develop and review risk assessments, lifting plans and engineering controls.
• Maintain accurate plant maintenance and compliance records.
• Drive continuous improvement across plant safety and utilisation.
