Job summary

John Holland is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Plant Engineer for the Torrens to Darlington Alliance in Adelaide. You will work closely with Surface Plant Manager and site teams to deploy plant and lifting equipment across major construction activities.

The role involves hands-on engineering, collaboration with subcontractors and engineering functions to ensure safe, reliable plant operations on a landmark infrastructure project.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Civil or relevant discipline.
• Experience with cranes, gantries, lifting frames or mobile equipment.
• Strong understanding of lifting operations, load charts and lift planning.
• Experience with bridge construction or heavy lifting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support across cranes, gantries and lifting frames.
• Assist in selecting, mobilising and deploying plant and equipment.
• Review lift studies, crane configurations and load charts.
• Contribute to safety and compliance through risk assessments and plans.
• Maintain accurate plant records and support inspections.
