Job summary

McGloin Baker is a civil engineering consultancy delivering disaster recovery and resilience programs, transport and water infrastructure, and major civil projects on the Gold Coast. We seek experienced Site Engineers and Project Engineers to work with site teams, contractors and stakeholders on upcoming civil infrastructure and DRFA projects.

Ideal candidates will have a civil engineering degree, solid site delivery experience and strong communication skills to coordinate multiple activities

• Manage inspections, hold points, quality records and site documentation.
• Support procurement, variations, progress claims and cost reporting.
• Assist with safety, environmental and quality compliance.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
• Identify project risks and support timely resolution of site issues.

The opportunity

We are seeking experienced Site Engineers and Project Engineers for upcoming civil infrastructure and disaster recovery projects across the Gold Coast region.

These opportunities will suit engineers with strong construction delivery experience who enjoy working closely with site teams, contractors and project stakeholders.

Experience delivering Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects and/or working on Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) projects will be a major advantage.

About the role

Depending on your experience and project requirements, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting the planning and delivery of civil construction works
• Coordinating site activities, subcontractors, suppliers and resources
• Monitoring project programs, costs, quality and progress

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical requirements
• Managing inspections, hold points, quality records and site documentation
• Supporting procurement, variations, progress claims and cost reporting

About you

You will ideally have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience as a Site Engineer, Project Engineer or in a similar civil construction role
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project controls and site documentation
• The ability to coordinate multiple activities and work effectively within a project delivery team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:

• TMR projects, standards and specifications
• DRFA or natural disaster recovery projects
• Road reconstruction, rehabilitation and associated civil works
• Queensland civil infrastructure projects
• Local or state government infrastructure projects
• Contract administration, quality assurance and project reporting
