Job summary

CMC is seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of critical road safety improvement works as part of the Bruce Highway Upgrade project in Queensland. The role covers earthworks, drainage structures, geometry and safety improvements including roadside clearing and barrier installation.

Degree-qualified Civil Engineer with 2+ years post-qualification experience is required; exposure to road construction and DTMR drainage specifications is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Exposure to road construction is essential; drainage experience per DTMR is highly desirable.
• Confident communicator with a passion for teamwork and meeting deadlines.
• Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance and reporting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Engineer and Supervisor to ensure timely delivery of programme requirements.
• Significant input in managing project Quality Systems, inspections and documentation.
• Planning & Programming; assist with procurement of materials and supplier management.
• Ensure compliance with technical specs, legislation, approvals and standards; focus on risk management.

About The Role

CMC is currently seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of critical road safety improvement works as part of the Bruce Highway Upgrade project. The scope of works includes wide centre line treatments, intersection improvements and safety barriers. The work entails formation widening and pavement works involving earthworks, drainage structures, geometry and safety improvements including roadside clearing and safety barrier installation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Engineer and Supervisor to ensure timely delivery of programme requirements from a cost and time perspective
• Significant input in managing project Quality Systems with respect to inspections, checklists, documentation and record keeping.
• Planning & Programming
• Assist with procurement of materials and supplier management
• Ensure compliance of the works undertaken in relation to technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards with a focus on Risk Management

About You

• Degree qualified Civil Engineer with 2+ years post qualification experience
• Exposure to road construction (essential), Drainage experience to DTMR specifications, highly desirable.
• Confident communicator
• Passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines
• Excellent time management and prioritisation
• Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance and reporting procedures
