Job summary

Decode Group is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support project delivery across Newcastle and surrounding areas. You will partner with the Project Manager to drive quality, safety, and on-time completion on residential and commercial builds.

The role requires a tertiary Building Management/ QS qualification and at least two years in a Site Engineer position, with strong communication and document control skills. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Two years industry experience as Site Engineer.
• Tertiary degree or diploma in Building Management, QS or equivalent.
• Computer literate with Word, Excel, programming and ACONEX or similar document control software.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate support to the Project Manager and help meet project objectives.
• Collate and distribute shop drawings; review coordination conflicts.
• Raise RFIs as necessary and assist with variation assessments.
• Review contractor programs and assist monthly project reporting.
• Support IMS processes and deliver maintenance manuals and as-built docs.
• Help meet milestones and manage prelim costs within limits.

THE ROLE

You will provide immediate support to the Project Manager in managing in accordance with company policy and procedures, to ensure its successful and timely completion and to achieve objectives for quality, time, safety, environment, profit and client satisfaction all in a manner that leads to future opportunities with the client.

The Site Engineer is responsible for the following areas;

• Provide immediate support to the Project Manager
• Manage collation and distribution of shop drawings
• Review and resolve coordination conflicts
• Raise RFI’s as necessary
• Assist Contract Administrator with Variation Assessment
• Review contractor programs
• Assist with monthly report
• Assist IMS process for the project
• Assist as per PE Collate and deliver Maintenance Manuals and As-built documentation
• Completion of project milestones in accordance with contractual time allowances
• Assistance in maintaining preliminaries costs within upper limit
• Achieving defects rectification within program time allowances
• Perform designated safety roles as described in Work Health and Safety

ABOUT YOU

You’re an experienced Site Engineer with a strong background across residential and commercial construction projects. You bring sound technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and a practical approach to coordinating site activities and delivering quality outcomes.

You’ll also bring:

• A Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Building Management, Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Have two years industry experience in as Site Engineer
• Be computer literate in Word processing, Excel, programming, and ACONEX or other document control software
