Job summary

Bush's Proteins, located in Beaudesert, Queensland, is seeking a Site Electrical & Automation Supervisor to lead electrical, automation and process control across a high‑performance industrial plant. You will manage a team of shift electricians, apprentices and a process control specialist, ensuring safe, reliable operation and continuous improvement on site.

Located in Beaudesert, Bush's Proteins is one of Australia's largest service rendering plants. Bush's Proteins is a function of the A J Bush & Sons business which is family owned and operated with over 115 years of history in the meat industry. The Head Office is located in Homebush, NSW.

Bush's Proteins converts animal by-products into valuable commodities such as meat-based protein meals and fats / oils, commonly used as key ingredients in stock feed, pet food, aqua feed and fertiliser.

We’re seeking an experienced Site Electrical & Automation Supervisor to lead our electrical, automation, and process control functions across a high‑performance industrial manufacturing plant. This is a senior technical leadership role overseeing a team of shift electricians, apprentices, and a process control specialist, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical and automation systems on site.

About the Role

As the Site Electrical & Automation Supervisor, you will be the highest‑level electrical and automation authority on site, responsible for:

Leading and developing a team of electricians, apprentices, and a process control specialist

Overseeing electrical maintenance, compliance, and safe work practices

Providing advanced troubleshooting across PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, drives, and industrial networks

Managing automation changes, system integrity, backups, and documentation

Supporting capital projects, upgrades, and reliability improvements

Ensuring electrical and automation work meets regulatory, safety, and operational standards

Working closely with production, engineering, and contractors to keep the plant running safely and efficiently

What You’ll Bring

Licensed electrician with extensive industrial manufacturing experience

Strong leadership capability and experience supervising electrical teams

Advanced knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, instrumentation, drives, and industrial networks

Ability to guide and mentor apprentices and tradespeople

Experience leading complex troubleshooting and automation fault‑finding

Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe work practices
