Job summary

Bush's Proteins, a major Australian rendering plant based in Beaudesert, Queensland, is seeking an experienced Production Analyst to coordinate and optimise production schedules and ensure safe, compliant operations across the plant.

You will work closely with the Production Manager and Logistics Analyst to balance material intake, capacity, labour, and dispatch, while driving data-driven improvements and KPI reporting for leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations coordination within rendering, food manufacturing, or heavy industrial processing.
• Strong understanding of rendering processes, equipment behaviour, and throughput constraints.
• High competency in data analysis, forecasting, and operational reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders.

• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on material availability and plant capacity.

• Balance production loads across cookers, presses, centrifuges, dryers, and ancillary equipment.
• Adjust plans in response to breakdowns, supply fluctuations, weather, or maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental licences, effluent capacity, and biosecurity controls.
• Analyse production data, yield trends, and raw material variability.
• Prepare daily production reports, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards.

Bush's Proteins is one of Australia's largest service rendering plants located in Beaudesert QLD. Bush's Proteins is a division of the A J Bush & Sons business which is family owned and operated with over 115 years of history in the meat industry. The Head Office is located in Homebush, NSW.

Bush's Proteins converts animal by-products into valuable commodities such as meat-based protein meals and fats / oils, commonly used as key ingredients in stock feed, pet food, aqua feed and fertiliser.

About the role

The Production Analyst is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimising production schedules to ensure stable, efficient, and compliant operation of the rendering plant. Working closely with the Production Manager and Logistics Analyst, this role ensures raw material intake, processing capacity, labour allocation, maintenance windows, and dispatch activities are synchronised across all internal stakeholders. The role acts as the central coordination point for daily and weekly production planning, ensuring the plant operates safely, efficiently, and in line with commercial and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on raw material availability, plant capacity, customer demand, and storage constraints.

Work directly with the Production Manager to align schedules with equipment capability, shift performance, and operational priorities.

Collaborate with the Logistics Analyst to forecast intake volumes, dispatch movements, and inventory requirements.

Balance production loads across cookers, presses, centrifuges, dryers, and ancillary equipment to maximise throughput.

Adjust plans proactively in response to breakdowns, supply fluctuations, weather impacts, or emergency maintenance.

Ensure production plans comply with environmental licence conditions, effluent capacity limits, and biosecurity controls.

Analyse production data, equipment performance, yield trends, and raw material variability.

Prepare daily production reports, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards for leadership.

Identify inefficiencies in production flow, equipment utilisation, and labour allocation and work with the Production Manager to implement process improvements.

Participate in root-cause investigations for production delays, quality issues, or equipment failures.

About you

Experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations coordination within rendering, food manufacturing, or heavy industrial processing.

Strong understanding of rendering processes, equipment behaviour, and throughput constraints.

High competency in data analysis, forecasting, and operational reporting.

Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders.

Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments.

Proficiency in planning software, ERP systems, and intermediate Microsoft Excel.

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and make time-critical decisions.
