Job summary

GHD is seeking a Project Engineer to join a major Main Roads WA project based in metropolitan Perth. This fixed-term role runs through to the end of 2027 and is site-based near the Perth CBD.

You will own construction work packages, coordinate site engineers, subcontractors and resources, develop methods and programmes, monitor progress and ensure safety and quality. Strong on-site problem solving and delivery focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' Australian civil road construction experience.
• Experience delivering work packages on major civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong coordination of engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and resources.
• Proven ability to monitor cost, schedule, and risk on-site.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of construction work packages from planning to delivery.
• Coordinate Site Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors, vendors and resources.
• Develop construction methodologies, staging plans, and short-term programmes.
• Ensure designs, approvals, procurement, work packs and quality docs are in place before construction.
• Monitor progress, productivity, costs, risks and package performance.
• Manage interfaces that impact delivery and coordinate with project teams on site.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specs, and project requirements.
• Provide clear reporting on progress and upcoming priorities.
• Identify constraints and drive practical solutions to maintain progress.
