Job summary

Sevcon School of Contemporary Singing in Blakehurst, Sydney, invites a motivated singing teacher to join our team. You may teach one-on-one and group classes with some reception duties, on a casual or sub-contractor basis.

We seek an experienced vocalist who can play piano, with strong communication and lesson-planning ability. NSW WWCC is required, and hours are Mon–Thu 3pm–8pm or Sat 9am–3pm, with extra events possible. Potential start early 2027.

Qualifications

• Experienced and capable vocalist who can play piano.
• Mature-minded and able to work with people of all ages (5+).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to format and deliver lesson plans, explain concepts and converse with parents/guardians of younger students.
• Responsible, reliable and nurturing; enjoys helping others grow and achieve goals.
• Available ongoing across Mon–Thu 3pm–8pm, Sat 9am–3pm.
• Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
• NSW Safe Working With Children Check current/WWCC completion prior to commencement.
• Additional hours may be offered for events and fill-in teaching.
• Role may start immediately or in early 2027.

Sevcon Singing and Music is an established singing and music school in Blakehurst, Sydney.

We have been operating in the local community for over 25 years. We are specialised in singing but offer a range of auxiliary lesson streams. We provide lessons in:

We are looking for a motivated singing teacher to join our team. You may be walking into an established lesson schedule comprised of both one-on-one and group classes with some general reception/administrative duties.

We are flexible and open to structuring employment on a casual or sub-contractor basis pending negotiation.

A successful candidate looks like this:

• An experienced and capable vocalist who can play piano. Whilst we provide teacher training, it would be a strong advantage if you are currently studying music or have qualifications in music.
• Mature-minded and can work with people of all ages (aged 5 and up), beginners to advanced, across all contemporary genres and a wide range of guided topics.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently format and deliver lesson plans, explain concepts and converse with parents/guardians of younger students.
• Responsible, reliable and nurturing - if you love helping others to grow and achieve their goals, we'd love to hear from you!
• Available ongoing across any, or all of these windows: Mon - Thurs from 3pm - 8pm, Sat 9am - 3pm
• Excellent attention to detail with strong administrative skills.
• Current and active NSW Safe Working With Children Check (or successful completion of WWCC prior to commencement).
• Additional hours are offered in the case of events and fill-in teaching.
• For the right candidate, a role may be ready for immediate commencement or commencement in early 2027.
