Job summary

Young Regional Conservatorium in NSW is seeking passionate Music Teachers to join our expanding team across the South West Slopes/Central West. The role can be negotiated as casual or permanent part-time with flexible hours and a supportive team to help grow your teaching studio.

You will teach voice, guitar, strings, brass, woodwind and percussion in studios at Young, Temora and Cowra, with travel to outlying schools.

Qualifications

• An Australian Driver's Licence is essential along with a willingness to travel to outlying schools (paid travel time and car provided by YRC)
• Right to work in Australia
• Current Working with Children Check number and evidence of recent child protection training, or willingness to undertake same, prior to commencing in the role
• Any level of tertiary music qualifications in performance and/or education will be considered, from certificate level through to advanced degrees
• Candidates without formal tertiary qualifications will be considered if they demonstrate relevant music background and practical experience in musical settings
• Pedagogical knowledge and experience teaching individuals and groups
• Willingness to work as part of a team and to further develop your skills as part of that team

About the role

The position of Music Teacher beginning Term 4, 2026, can be negotiated as casual or permanent part-time.

You'll teach students of varying ages and abilities, helping them to develop confidence, creativity and a life-long love of music. You'll be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, communicating with families, and fostering student engagement and confidence.

The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to grow and develop thier studio to suit their demonstrated expertise and have the ability to set flexible teaching hours to suit their own work-life balance.

Our tutors work within our studios, located in Young, Temora and Cowra, as well as work in school settings in the surrounding area. Schedules are weekly, within school terms. It is essential to hold an Australian Driver's Licence and be a confident driver.

We offer tuition in all musical genres, with the capacity to specialise. We have students waiting for lessons in:

The ability to teach more than one instrument is advantageous, particularly for our work in small, outlying schools.

About Young Regional Conservatorium

Young Regional Conservatorium has been delivering music education and performance since 1984. Young Regional Conservatorium provides tuition in the major centres of Young, Temora, Cowra, Boorowa and Harden, as well as in less-populated centres including Murringo, Monteagle, Maimuru, Wombat, Woodstock and Ariah Park.

Lessons are offered to students of all ages, from young children to seniors, and at all stages of learning, from beginner to advanced. Individual, group, ensemble and class lessons are available.

Young Regional Conservatorium is a member of the Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums and as one of these 17 conservatoriums, receives annual funding through the NSW Department of Education's Regional Conservatorium Grants Program.
