Job summary

Carewell Healthcare seeks a SIL House Team Leader for a male-only Supported Independent Living (SIL) household in Townsville. The role requires a confident, hands-on leader who can motivate staff, engage participants, maintain high care standards and oversee day-to-day operations.

Essential qualifications include a Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability or equivalent, with 3–4 years in SIL leadership. Availability for fixed Monday–Friday shifts (38 hours/week) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability or equivalent qualification.
• Experience leading SIL teams or similar supervisory roles (3–4 years).
• Strong leadership, communication and staff management skills.
• Experience supporting participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
• Sound knowledge of NDIS compliance, safeguarding and person-centred support.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, supervise and manage a team of Disability Support Workers.
• Oversee daily SIL operations, ensuring participant safety, dignity and quality of care.
• Manage staff rostering, attendance, performance and accountability.
• Maintain high standards of household cleanliness, hygiene, food safety and medication management.
• Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, participant support plans and incident reporting.
• Build positive relationships with participants, families, Support Coordinators and other stakeholders.
• Proactively resolve operational issues and maintain a well-organised SIL environment.
• Take ownership of house operations and escalate significant matters to management when required.

• 3-4 years of demonstrated experience in SIL Team Leadership or a comparable supervisory role.

• Strong leadership, communication, staff management and problem-solving skills.

• Experience supporting participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern.

• Sound knowledge of NDIS compliance, safeguarding and person‑centred support.

• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and maintain operational accountability.

• Availability to work fixed Monday-to-Friday morning/day shifts (38 hours per week).
