Responsibilities

• Trade & Customer Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with trade customers, suppliers and clients while assisting customers with lighting requirements.
• Sales & Lighting Design: Assist customers with product selection, provide lighting advice and support design work, quotes and project requirements.
• Showroom & Business Operations: Take ownership of the daily running of the showroom, ensuring everything is organised and operating smoothly.
• Orders & Stock: Process customer orders, monitor stock levels and ensure products are available when required.
• Online Sales & Enquiries: Manage online enquiries and orders, respond to customer communications and follow up professionally.
• Administration & Systems: Monitor emails, maintain records and use Excel to support operations.
• Operational Improvement: Identify ways to improve processes and take initiative to get things done.

Showroom & Operations Manager | Wangaratta | $37 - $40 per hour | MON - FRI no weekends

We are pumped to represent a brand new client in Wangaratta! Our client is a well-established, family-owned wholesale lighting business, searching for an experienced and highly capable Showroom & Operations Manager (2IC).

This is an opportunity for someone who is ready to move beyond a traditional sales or showroom position and take genuine ownership of the day-to-day operation of a business.

Working closely with the owner, you'll become the 2IC, overseeing the showroom, customers, tradie relationships, orders, stock, online enquiries and day-to-day operations while the owner focuses on clients, business development and new opportunities.

Longer term, this role has a genuine pathway into a broader management position.

Role Breakdown:

This is a diverse role combining sales, customer relationships, showroom operations, administration, stock management, lighting design and commercial support. You'll play a key role in keeping the business running efficiently and ensuring customers and trade clients receive an outstanding level of service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Trade & Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with trade customers, suppliers and clients while assisting customers with their lighting requirements.
• Sales & Lighting Design: Assist customers with product selection, provide lighting advice and support lighting design work, quotes and project requirements.
• Showroom & Business Operations: Take ownership of the daily running of the showroom, ensuring everything is organised, presentable and operating smoothly.
• Orders & Stock: Process customer orders, monitor stock levels, place supplier orders and ensure products are available when required.
• Online Sales & Enquiries: Manage online enquiries and orders, respond to customer communications and ensure enquiries are followed through professionally.
• Administration & Systems: Monitor and respond to emails, maintain accurate records and use systems including Excel to support the efficient running of the business.
• Operational Improvement: Identify ways to improve processes, systems and efficiencies and take initiative to get things done without needing to be constantly directed.

Who we're looking for?

We're not necessarily looking for someone who has already held a formal management title.

We're looking for someone who has the maturity, initiative and capability to become a manager.

The person we are looking for will ideally be:

Experienced in sales, customer service, showroom operations or account management

Confident dealing with customers, trade clients and suppliers

Highly organised with strong attention to detail

Commercially minded and comfortable understanding customer and business needs

Someone who naturally takes ownership and responsibility

Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a busy environment

Confident using technology and business systems

Competent with Microsoft Excel & Canva, or able to pick it up quickly

Industry experience in lighting, electrical, interiors, building products or a similar environment would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right person.
