Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Shift Supervisor in System Operations to lead a 24/7 team responsible for real-time monitoring, control and safety of the electric grid. You will supervise rotating shifts, issue clearances, and respond to outages and emergencies while fostering safety and continuous improvement.

This safety-sensitive role requires an associate degree, 5 years in utilities, knowledge of distribution/transmission, and the ability to make rapid decisions.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering or electro-mechanical tech or related field.
• 5 years utility/business experience in operations or planning.
• Knowledge of electric distribution and transmission system.
• Ability to make real-time safety/customer decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Availability to respond to emergencies 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Lead 24x7 system operations on rotation shifts.
• Monitor real-time grid safety and outage responses.
• Issue clearances and switching orders.
• Develop and coach shift personnel.
• Ensure compliance with NERC and company procedures.
