Job summary

Evolution Mining’s Cowal Gold Operations is seeking a Shift Leading Hand to run the mining crew on shift, ensuring safety, achieving production targets and keeping operations on track. You will lead prestart meetings, set up the shift board, monitor hazards, and be the first point of contact for crew issues.

You’ll also manage leave, rosters and performance reviews, plus support training and future leadership development.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience working with heavy gear in open cut mining, quarries or road construction.
• Supervised crews before and know how to manage people and get results.
• Safety-focused with ability to make decisions and keep things on track under pressure.
• Organised and clear communicator with ability to work well with others.
• Current driver’s licence; Cert IV TAE would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead prestart meetings and set up the shift board so everyone knows what they are doing.
• Monitor safety, manage hazards and ensure the crew works to high standards.
• Be the first point of contact for crew issues and help manage leave, rosters and performance reviews.
• Support training and development for the team and help plan for future leadership.
