InterContinental Sydney is seeking a Shift Engineer to join our Engineering team, maintaining hotel facilities and systems with a focus on safety and reliability. You will perform daily and preventative maintenance, respond to requests, and coordinate with contractors to minimise disruption.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience in a hotel or similar setting, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in Engineering, Maintenance or a similar role is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is highly regarded.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and a practical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
• A proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, contractors and external stakeholders.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload effectively.
• Strong organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safe working practices.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsabilités

• Carry out daily maintenance and engineering operations across the entire hotel.
• Respond to maintenance requests and attend to guest and colleague requirements in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete preventative maintenance across hotel plant, equipment and facilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently, minimising disruption to hotel operations and the guest experience.
• Ensure all engineering work is completed safely, on time and in compliance with relevant requirements.
• Work closely with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders to coordinate maintenance and repairs.
• Support project planning and the delivery of maintenance initiatives across the hotel.
• Maintain strong records and documentation relating to maintenance activities.
• Contribute to a proactive Engineering culture focused on safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
