Job summary

Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-Operative in Geelong is seeking a Social & Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) worker for a full-time 12-month term. You will provide culturally appropriate support to Community Members across the Wathaurong, Gulidjan and Gadubanud communities, both individually and in groups, guided by Balit Murrup.

The role emphasizes strengths, resilience and respect for community choices, with a focus on wellbeing goals and culturally centred practices.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in community services, social work, psychology or related area.
• Understanding of Aboriginal community strengths and challenges.
• Experience delivering SEWB support in group and individual settings.
• Knowledge of culturally centred practices for Aboriginal services.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments.
• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Police check and Working with Children Check are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally appropriate SEWB support to community members (1:1 and group).
• Work within the Balit Murrup framework to support wellbeing goals.
• Build strengths-based, respectful relationships with community.
• Maintain accurate records and write clear reports.
