Job summary

Latrobe Community Health Service is seeking a SETS Officer to support humanitarian entrants across Gippsland. The role is part time (0.8 FTE) with a fixed term until June 2027, offering meaningful community work with a dedicated team.

You will assist settlement through person-centred support, helping clients access services, build capacity and participate in their communities, while contributing to culturally responsive services and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline (social work, human/community services, counselling etc) is desirable.
• A current Working with Children Check.
• Victorian Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Deliver settlement support services to individuals with low to medium settlement needs.
• Facilitate access to appropriate services and strengthen community connections.
• Develop culturally responsive services and support partnership across the settlement sector.

The SETS Officer supports humanitarian entrants and other eligible migrants to successfully settle in Gippsland, by increasing their knowledge, capability, access to services, and participation within their communities. The role contributes to improved settlement outcomes through person-centred support, community capacity building, and coordinated engagement with support services and community stakeholders.

The role is accountable for delivering settlement support services to individuals with low to medium settlement needs, facilitating access to appropriate services, identifying emerging community needs, and strengthening community connections. It contributes to the development of culturally responsive services, supports partnership development across the settlement sector, and promotes greater social, economic, and community participation for multicultural communities.

To be successful, you will require;

• Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline (social work, human/community services, counselling etc) is desirable
• A current Working with Children Check
• Victorian Drivers License
