Job summary

J&T Express Australa Pty Ltd in Villawood NSW is seeking a precise Settlement Accountant to join our Sydney finance team. You will manage end-to-end AP/AR processing, reconciliations, and billing, ensuring accurate transactions and timely reporting.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will liaise with our China global head office, support month-end close, and deliver audit-ready documentation while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration with local operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in AP, AR, bank reconciliations and billing in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CA pathway preferred or in progress.
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and meet tight reporting deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across regional teams.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end AP and AR in line with internal standards.
• Generate invoices, track receivables and perform credit control.
• Perform high-volume bank and ledger reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Coordinate scheduled payment runs and disbursement processing.
• Prepare regular financial summaries, settlement tracking and metrics for stakeholders.
• Support month-end close with audit-ready documentation.

We are seeking a precise, proactive, and commercially minded Settlement Accountant to join our Sydney finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is key to ensuring accurate transaction processing across accounts payable and receivable, seamless daily reconciliations, and efficient financial communication between local operational teams and regional headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processing in strict compliance with internal accounting standards and schedules
• Generate and issue customer billing invoices, actively track receivables, and perform timely credit control follow-ups on outstanding balances
• Perform high-volume bank and ledger reconciliations, proactively investigating variances and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Coordinate and execute scheduled payment runs, ensuring outgoing vendor and partner disbursements are accurately processed and authorized
• Prepare regular financial summaries, settlement tracking reports, and operational metrics for key internal stakeholders and management
• Serve as a primary finance liaison with our China global head office, ensuring effective bilingual cross-border communication and reporting alignment
• Support month-end financial closing procedures, maintaining comprehensive, audit-ready financial documentation and records

About you

• Proven hands-on experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and billing within a commercial or fast-paced environment
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor degree, CPA/CA pathway preferred or currently in progress)
• Meticulous attention to detail with demonstrated capability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet tight reporting deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across operational and regional teams
