Job summary

BUMA Australia is seeking a Serviceperson to join the maintenance team at its Blackwater/Central Queensland operations. The role involves servicing and refuelling a range of mine equipment, with an emphasis on safety and reliable operations.

A strong safety culture is essential for daily shifts on a 7/7 roster. The candidate should have mining/civil industry experience and hold relevant VOC licenses where possible, with Standard 11 desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the mining/civil industry.
• HR drivers licence is desirable but not essential.
• RIISAM212D certification is highly desirable.
• RIIVEH307/VOC licenses for heavy vehicles are highly desirable.
• RIIVEH306/VOC licenses for mine service vehicles are highly desirable.
• Current Standard 11 or willingness to obtain.

About the Role:

We are seeking full time Serviceperson to join our maintenance team. As a Serviceperson you will carry out servicing on a range of mine equipment and vehicles with duties including refuelling, servicing and other general maintenance activities. A strong commitment to safety and promotion of safety culture is essential.

About You:

• Previous experience in a similar role within the mining / civil industry
• HR drivers licence (desired but not essential)
• RIISAM212D - Service mine plant and equipment (highly desirable)
• RIIVEH307 - Operate Heavy Rigid Vehicle VOC (highly desirable)
• RIIVEH306 - Operate a Mine Service Vehicle VOC (highly desirable)

About Blackwater Mine

Located in Central Queensland, Whitehaven’s Blackwater Mine is one of Queensland's largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 21 kilometres from the town of Blackwater.

The BUMA Australia team have been performing truck and excavator pre-strip operations at Blackwater since May 2012. Over 35 million bank cubic metres of material is mined by our fleets every year.

Our fleet at the mine comprises a combination of Komatsu 930E and Caterpillar 789C haul trucks with Hitachi EX8000, Caterprillar 6060 and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.
