ServiceNow IRM/GRC Solutions Architect (Sydney, Australia)

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on ServiceNow IRM/GRC Solutions Architect to lead end-to-end architectural design, implementation, and continuous technical evolution of our Integrated Risk Management (IRM) and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) ecosystem, while maintaining excellence in overall ServiceNow platform administration.

In this dual-nature role, you will bridge the gap between complex risk or regulatory requirements and technical execution. You will actively configure, administer, and develop ServiceNow solutions across IRM/GRC and ITSM/ITOM modules, building workflows, scripting advanced configurations, designing APIs, and maintaining alignment with ServiceNow best practices and the platform's Common Service Data Model (CSDM). You will act as a trusted technical leader, providing strategic platform governance alongside direct, hands-on implementation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Strategy

• Lead architectural design and technical roadmaps for ServiceNow IRM/GRC modules, including Policy & Compliance, Risk Management, Audit Management, Vendor/Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), and Regulatory Change Management
• Design enterprise risk frameworks, inherent/residual risk scoring methodologies, control testing workflows, and automated compliance tracking structures within the platform
• Ensure platform health and alignment with the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework
• Evaluate platform updates, lead upgrade impact analyses, and proactively resolve platform upgrade conflicts
• Enforce development best practices, manage update sets, and lead code reviews for delivery teams

Hands-On Development & Administration

• Configure, administer, and develop the ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) tools
• Build and maintain technical solutions using JavaScript, Glide scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, ACLs, Client Scripts, and UI Actions across all ServiceNow modules
• Create modern workflows and automated compliance engine triggers utilizing Flow Designer and IntegrationHub
• Deploy Automated Indicators to establish continuous monitoring, evidence collection, and automated control testing processes
• Develop executive dashboards, operational reports, and Performance Analytics to surface real-time KPIs and risk/compliance metrics
• Support, configure, script, and administer the ServiceNow platform to meet IT team requirements and business needs

Integrations & Data Management

• Architect and implement secure integrations between ServiceNow and third-party tools (e.g., SIEM engines, vulnerability scanners, external asset repositories, or specialized risk feeds) using Scripted REST/SOAP APIs and MID Servers
• Oversee data migrations, build secure Import Sets, and handle complex transform script mapping
• Design and deploy outbound and inbound custom REST/SOAP APIs to enable seamless platform interoperability

Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance

• Conduct business discovery workshops to capture and translate multi-industry regulatory criteria (e.g., SOX, GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, or DORA) into scalable technical designs
• Act as a trusted advisor to Risk, Audit, Cybersecurity, Privacy, and IT Operations executives and teams
• Engage with various key stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Lead and mentor technical teams on ServiceNow best practices and solution design patterns

Required Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of total hands-on experience in the ServiceNow ecosystem
• At least 4+ years dedicated explicitly to ServiceNow IRM/GRC architecture and deployment
• Proven experience deploying IRM/GRC solutions within highly-regulated, multi-national corporate environments
• Deep mastery of ServiceNow scripting structures: Glide Record API, GlideQuery, Script Includes, Business Rules, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub
• Proven track record building custom outbound and inbound REST/SOAP APIs and integrations
• Strong conceptual grasp of enterprise governance frameworks, risk appetite matrixes, compliance mappings, and continuous monitoring indicators
• Hands-on experience with ITSM and ITOM module configuration and administration
• ServiceNow Modules: IRM, GRC, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit Management, Policy Management, TPRM, ITSM, ITOM
• Programming Languages: JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3
• APIs & Integration: REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, WSDL, MID Server deployments
• Databases: SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
