Job description

This is a 6-month contract opportunity for an experienced ServiceNow Developer to take ownership of a newly implemented ServiceNow ITSM environment. Working in a standalone capacity, you’ll be responsible for supporting the stability of the platform while also delivering ongoing development, enhancements and improvements. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work across development, configuration, scripting, workflows, integrations and troubleshooting. You’ll work closely with stakeholders and partner with an external ServiceNow provider where required to resolve issues and continue developing the environment.

It’s well suited to someone who is comfortable working independently, can confidently troubleshoot platform issues and has the technical capability to develop and enhance ServiceNow as requirements evolve.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll have responsibility across both development and ongoing platform support, helping ensure the new ServiceNow ITSM environment is stable, effective and continues to evolve with the needs of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing, configuring and enhancing the ServiceNow ITSM environment
• Developing and maintaining scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, workflows and integrations
• Building and enhancing workflows using Flow Designer
• Investigating and resolving incidents, defects and platform issues
• Troubleshooting technical issues and identifying appropriate solutions
• Delivering ongoing ServiceNow enhancements and improvements
• Supporting the stability, performance and quality of the platform
• Working with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate these into technical solutions
• Working with an external ServiceNow partner
• Contributing to platform standards and ensuring development is maintainable and fit for purpose

You should have:

• Demonstrated experience working as a ServiceNow Developer
• Hands‑on experience developing and configuring ServiceNow ITSM
• Experience with ServiceNow scripting, including Business Rules and Script Includes
• Experience using Flow Designer
• Experience developing or supporting ServiceNow integrations
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience investigating platform issues and defects
• The ability to understand business requirements and translate them into ServiceNow solutions
• The confidence to work independently and take ownership of technical problems through to resolution
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and external partners
