Job summary

Henry Schein Australia is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our service team and deliver preventative maintenance across dental equipment including treatment units, compressors, suction units and sterilisers.

In this field-based role you will ensure equipment reliability, safety and compliance for our customers, with a focus on documenting findings, planning service visits and promoting preventive maintenance programs as a trusted technical advisor.

Qualifications

• Experience in field service or customer-facing technical support in healthcare equipment.
• Proven mechanical, electrical or electronic aptitude.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage service schedules.
• Proactive in identifying equipment risks and improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scheduled preventative maintenance on dental equipment.

About the Role

We are looking for a Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our service team and deliver preventative maintenance across a broad range of dental equipment such as dental treatment units, plant room compressors, suction units and sterilisers.

This is a customer focused, field based role where you will play a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, compliance and operational performance for our customers. By providing proactive maintenance services, you will help reduce equipment downtime, extend asset life and support our commitment to being a trusted partner to healthcare practices across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Preventative Maintenance Technician, you will:

• Deliver scheduled preventative maintenance services on dental equipment.
• Perform inspections, servicing, validation, calibration, testing and compliance activities in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Australian Standards and company quality requirements.
• Identify equipment risks, wear, faults and remedial repair requirements before they become critical issues.
• Accurately document maintenance findings, compliance outcomes and service recommendations.
• Escalate repair and replacement opportunities through established service and sales processes.
• Educate customers on equipment operation, maintenance requirements and best-practice equipment care.
• Build strong relationships with customers and act as a trusted technical advisor.
• Promote the value of preventative maintenance programs and support customer retention initiatives.
• Ensure all service activities are completed safely, professionally and in line with company procedures.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience working in a field service or customer facing technical support environment ideally dental, medical, sterilisation, healthcare or related technical equipment
• Strong mechanical, electrical or electronic aptitude.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage service schedules effectively.
• Computer literate: MS Office and experience working on CRM software platforms (Salesforce desirable)
• A proactive approach to identifying equipment risks and improvement opportunities.
• Commitment to safety, quality and compliance standards.
